ini (Leonicia Léon Surles) is a young entertainer with big talent and a big heart.

Always comfortable in front of an audience and loving to entertain, the 14-year-old Dallas native now residing in L.A. uses her remarkable singing ability not only to entertain but also to promote charitable causes and advocate for kids and teens who need words of assurance and empowerment.

Her new single, “There She Go,” is a positive, upbeat song addressed especially to young people who have been bullied. Its lyrics communicate the importance of feeling good and knowing that you are beautiful in your own skin, and Nini's exuberant style exudes the kind of confidence they need for themselves.

Nini is also an actor and has had speaking roles on TV, for example on Nickelodeon's Nickey, Rickey, Dicky, Dawn as well as the principal role in a commercial for Super Gaming League.

Nini was 5 years old when she first became interested in music after watching her older sister, Leona, take the microphone at their mom’s wedding and belt out the James Brown hit, “I Feel Good.” From that point on she began singing in the church choir. Indeed, Nini has somewhat followed in the footsteps of her sister, who also started in the choir and is a multi-talented entertainer herself, and Leona writes songs for Nini.

Nini and her sister share not only their mom's Trinidian genes but also the artistic and generous spirit of her Trinidadian culture. Nini participates in, and often performs for, numerous charitable events and activities, both in L.A. and Dallas, where her mom runs the Single Parents & Teens Foundation of Dallas Inc. Through the Foundation, Nini helps kids in need by collecting clothing, toys and food. She also participated in the “Be strong and Speak Out” anti-bullying campaign. Having been bullied herself, she is a powerful advocate. Her single, “Stronger,” was also dedicated to speaking out against bullying.
